The Future of Fashion, 2014 Paris

The project presents clothes for a rare woman, silent and strong, who lives close to the sea and enchants men with her penetrating dark gaze. She wears black wool and silk clothes, intricate laces, and single-seamed dresses inspired by Madeleine Vionnet wrapped around her body like a soft but resilient shield. With references to Belgian symbolist painter Léon Spilliaert and the tale of the French Lieutenant’s Woman, the collection consists of garments made of one piece of fabric and shimmering evening dresses. The woman wearing the garments is seductive and alluring like a bird of paradise, but also dangerous. Reclusive and with an undercurrent of melancholy, this coastline woman might drown anyone who comes too close. A femme fatale and rare bird rolled into one, wearing garments masterfully draped around her body.
